Profile
My name is Toni, I moved to New Zealand 2 years ago from beautiful upstate New York. Why did I leave then? My husband
is a New Zealander and he wanted to move back home after being gone for 25 years.
My love for clay started at a young age. Before polymer clay I was a studio potter, when I could know longer fit behind the
potters wheel and needed something to do with my hands for creativity I discovered polymer clay, that was in 1994. I have
been obsessed with it ever since.
Polymer clay gives me the creativity that I love with the vast range of colors the clay comes in as well as creating my own
color palete.
Millifiori is my one of my favorite techniques with polymer clay, so I decided to open a shop to sell my canes and jewelry.
Millefiori means " thousand flowers" in Italian, millefiori is my true passion. It was originally an ancient glass making
technique but it is now applied to polymer clay with wonderful results! I love making large canes with a pattern that runs
through the entire cane. Slices are then cut from the cane and applied to practically any project that can be cured in a
home oven.
Below are some of my polymer clay related accomplishments:
- Published in PolymerCafe April 2009
- Published in PolymerCafe Magazine 2007
- Country Heritage Magazine
- 1000 Jewelry Inspirations by Interweave Press
- Published in Beads Etc. Magazine Issue 20 and Issue 24
- Showcased in The Journal in December, 2004 for my small internet business making polymer clay eggs
which sell all over the world http://www.keepsakeeggs.com. Privately commissioned to create a Giant Golden Emu Egg for Judge Judy
Won second place in Bead Arts Award by Bead and Button Magazine, 2007, for Jewelry Design In Beads. I am happy to
say that I have won several other contests as well as teaching classes in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and New Zealand.
